Trainees learned to identify the department’s fixed and mobile sound equipment, with the basic knowledge, applications and best practice for each item.

Training overview
The session worked through the department’s equipment by category, covering what each item is, where it is used and how to handle it.
- Loudspeakers: the Meyer Sound main PA, mobile loudspeakers and stage monitors, Genelec and Adam studio monitors
- Mixers: Avid S6L (console, engine and rack), Midas Venice and Midas MR32
- Processing: Klark Teknik DN360 and DN370 graphic EQs, DN514 noise gate, DN540 compressor, and Eventide Eclipse and Lexicon PCM-96 effects units
- Headphones and in-ear monitoring: AKG K141, Sennheiser HD650, HD25 and IE8, Shure SE425, wired IEMs (Behringer Powerplay, Shure P9HW) and Shure PSM1000 wireless IEMs
- Wireless microphones (Shure Axient, Sennheiser 9000 and 5000), microphones from AKG, Audix, Bartlett and Beyerdynamic, and BSS and Radial DI boxes
Training milestones

- Analogue and digital mixers, EQs, dynamics and effects units identified
- RF microphone and in-ear monitoring systems identified
