Training overview
Gaurav Sawant ran a five-day course on the department’s radio microphones and in-ear monitors. The first four days covered the Shure Axient and PSM1000 systems: the transmitters, beltpacks and receivers and how they are networked, the basics of radio frequencies and antennas, and using Shure Wireless Workbench to scan for clear frequencies, allocate them and save presets. Trainees also updated firmware, practised troubleshooting and built a show file, before an individual practical test. The fifth day repeated the process on the Sennheiser D9000 and G3 systems using Sennheiser’s Wireless Systems Manager.

Next steps
Staff will prepare RF plans for productions and build on this with in-ear monitor fitting and mixing.
