Optocore ran a training session on the fibre optic network that links ROHM’s stage, COMMS room and control room, covering the system from architecture down to individual devices.
Training overview
The session introduced the Optocore system architecture used across the building, showing how the network ties together the stage, the COMMS room and the control room over a single fibre backbone. Attendees covered the different types of optical fibre used in the installation and how each is suited to different runs and distances around the venue.
The group then worked through the network topologies Optocore supports, and how ROHM’s own installation is laid out, before moving on to the individual devices on the network and their respective applications, from stage boxes to the interfaces used in the control room.

Next steps
With the architecture and device set understood, attendees are ready to support day to day patching and troubleshooting on the Optocore network for live shows. The next step is applying this knowledge under real production conditions, building familiarity with the specific devices in regular use until fault finding on the network becomes second nature.
