The sessions focused on the monitor engineer’s role, using the S6L and the department’s stage monitors.
- Operating the Avid S6L for monitor mixing
- Tuning Meyer Sound UM and MJF stage monitors
- Graphic and parametric EQ, used in parallel and in series
- Mono and stereo, with an introduction to correlation: phase, time and polarity
- Dynamic and condenser microphones compared
- EQ, Q factor, shelving Q, HPF, LPF and sweep techniques

Next steps
Staff will mix monitors for rehearsals under supervision, building towards running monitors for a production.
