Avid S6L Monitor Mixing and Audio Fundamentals
A practical course on mixing monitors from the Avid S6L, tuning stage monitors, and the audio fundamentals behind phase, time and polarity.

Training overview
This two-day course with Pedro Banha focused on mixing monitors from the Avid S6L. Trainees tuned the Meyer Sound UM and MJF stage wedges using graphic and parametric EQ, including how the two can be used in series or in parallel, and practised sweeping the EQ to find problem frequencies. The theory side covered mono and stereo and how phase, time and polarity affect the way signals combine, and a comparison of dynamic and condenser microphones showed how each behaves in a monitor mix.
