Audio Mixing Consoles and Audio Fundamentals
An overview of the Avid S6L digital mixing console, paired with an introduction to audio fundamentals: wavelength and the directivity of frequencies.

Training overview
Pedro Banha introduced the Avid S6L, the digital console used for shows at ROHM, working through a channel from input to output. Trainees set gain structure for line and microphone sources, used phantom power, and applied high and low pass filters, parametric EQ and shelving, learning how the Q factor changes the width of an EQ band. They also routed signal to aux sends before and after the fader and used output EQ, and the course finished with an introduction to wavelength and how the directivity of sound changes with frequency.
