Sennheiser ran a radio frequency microphone and monitoring system training session for the Video Department, covering the hardware, RF theory and software behind the wireless systems the department relies on.
Training overview
The session opened with the hardware itself, working through microphones, beltpacks, transmitters, receivers and IEMs, and how multiple devices are networked together. From there it moved into the theory behind radio frequency, covering how RF signals behave and how to read a frequency chart to spot clean space for a show.
Attendees then set up antennas correctly for reliable reception, before an introduction to the Shure and Sennheiser wireless software used to manage the systems day to day. The session finished with the practical side of that software: modifying hardware parameters in WSM, scanning and allocating frequencies, and saving presets so a show’s RF plan can be recalled quickly.
