Training overview
Chris James led a one-day course in the MPR on fitting microphones for opera and musicals, for Sound and Broadcast staff alongside the Costume and Makeup team. The morning used instructional videos to show how microphones are placed and hidden on performers, and set out what each department is responsible for during a fitting. The afternoon was a practical session fitting microphones, in preparation for recorded productions such as La Traviata.

Next steps
The departments will apply the approach on the La Traviata recording and repeat the training for new staff.
