Guest Trainer: Sennheiser
Sennheiser brought its AMBEO immersive audio seminar to ROHM, covering the acoustics, signal processing and recording techniques behind 3D audio, with recording sessions on stage.
Training dates: July 2019
Training overview
Over the seminar Johannes Kares of Sennheiser took the team through the AMBEO immersive audio system, starting with the acoustics and signal processing behind 3D sound and the recording techniques used to capture it. A 9.1 loudspeaker array was set up in a rehearsal space so the group could listen to immersive recordings played back, while microphone arrays were rigged on stage. Local and visiting musicians then performed and the sessions were recorded to multitrack through the digital console, giving staff hands-on experience of setting up, recording and listening back to an immersive capture.
